4. Prevent corrosion and leaks
- Take batteries out of devices you will not use for weeks or months — a slow leak inside a flashlight or remote can destroy it.
- Keep terminals away from other metal such as keys, coins and tools. A caddy or the original packaging handles this.

5. Rotate, label and recycle
